Culture Shot is rooted in my Filipino heritage and a lifelong respect for the healing power of plants — something I first witnessed as a child, visiting my lola (my grandmother) in the Philippines. She was the renowned healer in her village. People came to her from miles around and I remember watching, fascinated, as she prepared medicines from the plants she grew on her land. I even experienced it myself — when I fell ill she treated me with something she had made and my recovery was remarkable.
As a young girl growing up in the UK, I quickly realised how different the Western approach to medicine was. What I had seen in the Philippines stayed with me — raw, powerful, and deeply human. It was more than healing; it was a way of life. For me, it was a culture shock in the truest sense.
Years later I found myself drawn back to that wisdom. What began as curiosity has become something much deeper, a full embrace of natural plant-based healing. Just like my late lola, I now get it.
Culture Shot was born from that reconnection. These cold-pressed juice shots are not just healthy drinks — they’re rooted in memory, reverence, and a desire to bring traditional plant healing into a modern space. No added sugars, no fillers – pure and simple. Just nature’s medicine as it was always meant to be. This isn’t just about juice, it’s about honouring what came before us and pressing it forward, one shot at a time.

I am the quiet energy behind Culture Shot making sure the day-to-day runs smoothly while keeping us anchored in what matters. My role spans a bit of everything: overseeing logistics, keeping us on track, and making sure this business reflects not just our values, but our family too. I look after the sustainability side of things and gently shape how we give back, from the way we source, to the causes we support. For me, Culture Shot is more than a product. It is about building something our children can be proud of — a business that nurtures, uplifts, and leaves the world a little better than we found it.
